Morrissey figures he's in good shape to make jump to pros

A normal summer has been awfully good for Josh Morrissey, the Winnipeg Jets’ top defence prospect.

The 20-year-old from Calgary has had at least two dizzying years until some sanity returned to his 2015 off-season.

He played 112 games over the course of the 2013-14 campaign, including an impressive playoff stint well into June with the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps while still junior-eligible.

In 2014-15 it didn’t go quite as long, but Morrissey still went to WHL camp, Jets’ rookie camp, the NHL rookie tournament, Jets’ main camp, his WHL team in Prince Albert, Canada’s world junior team, then back to Kelowna after a WHL trade, then all the way to the Memorial Cup.
