The MTS Centre just keeps on giving for Andrew Ladd.
The former Jets captain, traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on Feb. 25 and returning to his home of four-plus years on Friday night, tallied a third-period goal and got an appreciative standing ovation during a first-period timeout as the Hawks bounced the Jets on Friday night.
Chicago captain Jonathan Toews gave Ladd a perfect feed going to the net early in the third and Ladd buried the 3-0 goal for his 20th of the season and third with his new/old team.
If the floodgates weren’t open from two goals in 26 seconds — from Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa — late in the second period, Ladd gave them a big shove.
