BROOKLYN – The Winnipeg Jets constant procession to the penalty box has them down 1-zip after the first period of action against the New York Islanders.
The Jets have been nailed for four infractions and, despite some brilliant work by goaltender Ondrej Pavelec, paid the price when Ryan Strome opened the scoring with just 11.8 seconds left in the opening 20.
The Jets had their own power-play advantage, but failed to capitalize.
The Jets are 2-0 to start the season after wins in Boston and New Jersey while the Islanders are 0-1-1).
