The Winnipeg Jets are celebrating Saturday after earning the second overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft this summer.
The Winnipeg Jets were big winners in tonight's NHL draft lottery in Toronto.
The Jets vaulted to the No. 2 spot in tonight's drawing, winning the second lottery of the three the league conducted for the top three picks.
The Toronto Maple Leafs, the team with the best odds (20 per cent) of winning the first pick, landed it.
The Jets had a 7.5 per cent chance -- 75 combinations out of the possible 1,000 in the drawing -- to move up to the first pick of the draft.
