The Winnipeg Jets will be without No. 2 centre Mark Scheifele for a week as he makes his second trip to sick bay since Christmas.
Jets coach Paul Maurice broke the news after Monday’s optional skate that featured just 13 players. The silver lining on the injury front is that Mathieu Perreault, who did not finish Sunday’s 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, should be good to go for Tuesday’s home date against the San Jose Sharks.
"Matty is probable for the game tomorrow. He didn’t go through the morning skate but he feels good," said Maurice.
