THE Winnipeg Jets have re-signed one of their remaining restricted free agents -- although it’s not one of the big names fans were likely hoping for.
High-scoring forwards Patrik Laine and Kyle Connor remain without contracts with less than a week to go until training camp opens. Both are coming out of their entry-level deals and are due for significant raises.
With their matters yet to be resolved, Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff took care of some other business Saturday by inking RFA goalie Eric Comrie to a new two-year pact.
Comrie is currently the third string netminder in the organization behind Connor Hellebuyck and Laurent Brossoit.
