Jets go out with a bang

The lower the better as far as many fans are concerned near the end of the Winnipeg Jets’ regular season.

But put something that resembles a rivalry game in front of the Jets — and that would be the Minnesota Wild — and competitive juices are bound to take over.

The Wild, almost surely on the way to the Stanley Cup playoffs again, had a big-time need of two more points for a clinching scenario at the MTS Centre on Sunday night.

The misfiring visitors, though, were stopped in their tracks, 5-1 by the out-of-contention Jets in Winnipeg’s final home outing of the season.
