SUNRISE, Fla. — All the passion, intensity and anger in the world — given the other team usually has those as well — isn’t going to make up for not having someone who can author masterpieces.
The Florida Panthers used that advantage Saturday night at BB&T Center, unleashing history-making Jaromir Jagr on the Winnipeg Jets for two goals, the difference in a 3-1 Panthers’ victory before an announced crowd of 16,210.
Jagr scored twice to reach 742 for his career and pass Brett Hull to become the NHL’s third all-time leading goalscorer.
After celebrating his 44th birthday last Monday, Jagr moved into the Panthers scoring lead with 20 goals and 43 points.
