PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Flyers neared a 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets in a battle of rusty squads Monday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
It was the first test after an eight-day respite from the rigors of the regular season for both squads.
Sluggish legs. Bungling hands. First-rate goaltending.
That pretty much summed up Game 49 for each of the Central Division-leading Jets and the Flyers, one of the Eastern Conference's worst teams and all but out of the playoff picture.
