Andrew Ladd's surgery for sports hernia successful

The Winnipeg Jets announced this afternoon that captain Andrew Ladd has had successful surgery today in St. Louis to repair a sports hernia.

Ladd was bothered by the hernia for much of the second half of the 2014-15 season, rarely practising or taking game-day skates after the NHL all-star break.

The 29-year-old B.C., native missed only one regular-season game, scoring 24 goals and a career-best 62 points to lead the Jets in scoring during the year.

The Jets said today that Ladd is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for training camp in September.
