A new system to track attendance at Whiteout Street Parties during Winnipeg Jet playoff games could backfire and result in smaller crowds.
Street party organizers announced a new policy Friday requiring street party attendees to obtain a ticket -- albeit a free ticket -- in advance.
The ticket must be downloaded from Ticketmster to a smartphone, or printed from a computer, or obtained at the Bell MTS Place box office.
The ticket process was announced as a way to let organizers know in advance how many people to expect so they can provide services accordingly, like policing and portable toilets.
