TAMPA, Fla. – Wichita State extended their winning streak to eight matches with a comprehensive three-set win over South Florida, 25-18, 25-15, 25-21 on Friday night at The Corral in Tampa.
The victory matches the eight straight wins that Wichita State recorded to begin last season. It's the longest stretch of conference wins since the 2017 campaign for WSU. The Shockers improved to 7-0 all-time against South Florida.
WSU (14-6, 8-3) set a new season high with 13 aces, breaking their previous high of ten against Kent St. on September 10. Lily Liekweg established a new career and individual season high with five aces, while Kailin Newsome added four of her own.
