WICHITA, Kan. - Former Wichita State football head coach Willie Jeffries was recognized as part of a Black History Month tribute by the National Football Foundation (NFF) to salute trailblazers, it was announced Monday evening.
The NFF and College Hall of Fame created a list, which highlights "just" a few of the many significant individuals who helped integrate football since the first college game between Rutgers and Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869. During the month of February, the NFF will profile several of these trailblazers on FootballMatters.org, the NFF's digital platform for storyteling and promoting the good in the game.
