BASEHOR, Kan. – In a tournament that saw three Wichita State golfers advance to the quarterfinals, redshirt senior and Kansas transfer Zach Sokolosky took home the Kansas Amateur Match Play Championship trophy after defeating fellow Shocker, Michael Winslow, in the 36-hole final round on Sunday afternoon.
Five Shockers, Lucas Scheufler, Ty Adkins, Connor Geist, Michael Winslow, and the aforementioned Sokolosky advanced out of the qualifying rounds with Sokolosky being slated as the top-seed after shooting -14.
Head golf coach Judd Easterling said, "The (Kansas) Amateur is the biggest annual golf tournament in the state of Kansas.
