Wichita State’s Deja Young doubles up on gold medals at Paralympics

Wichita State’s Deja Young won the 200-meter sprint on Friday in the Paralympics, her second gold medal of the games in Brazil.

Her time of 25.46 seconds came in ahead of Poland’s Alicja Fiodorow at 25.61.

Young, from Mesquite, Texas, won the 100 meters on Sunday with a time of 12.15 seconds.

Young was born with a shoulder deformity after the doctor delivering her pulled on her head too hard and creating a dislocated shoulder. She’s beginning her third year at Wichita State.
