The Wichita State women’s basketball team is 2-0 to start the season for the first time since 2005, thanks to a dramatic come-from-behind victory in overtime, 63-60, over rival Missouri State last weekend.
It was a character-building win for a Shockers team that has the fifth-youngest Division I roster. WSU committed 27 turnovers, gave up 25 offensive rebounds and played the overtime without its senior leader Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage, but still overcame that adversity to win.
Coach Keitha Adams registered her 300th career win. She won 284 games in 16 seasons at UTEP before collecting the last 16 the past two seasons with the Shockers.
