Going into Selection Sunday, The Shockers were expecting to go on the road for another year for the NCAA Tournament.
Sunday night they were proven otherwise.
“I was speechless [when we found out we were hosting],” senior Mikaela Raudsepp said.
Wichita State is seeded for the first time in school history. The Shockers received the No. 16 seed, which meant getting to play on their home court.
For the past two years Wichita State played in Nebraska.
“We went to Nebraska twice the last two years so we were kind of expecting to get sent somewhere else,” Raudsepp said.
