Wichita State defeated Missouri State for a 12th consecutive game on Thursday, handing the Bears a dunk-filled beating that ranks among the worst of the series.
The Shockers defeated the Bears 99-68 and moved within one game of clinching at least a share of the Missouri Valley Conference title. With three games to play, WSU (20-7, 13-2 MVC) leads second-place Illinois State (11-4) by two games and any combination of a Shockers win or a Redbirds loss will do it.
Both give WSU the undisputed title and No. 1 seed in the MVC Tournament. Illinois State plays at Norhern Iowa on Saturday, so the Shockers could be in position to win it outright on Sunday at Indiana State.
