Wichita State won its 23rd and final Missouri Valley Conference All-Sports Trophy in 2016-17.
The Shockers finished with seven MVC titles and an aggregate score of 8.493. In the MVC’s new scoring system, teams are awarded 10 points for finishing first in a sport, nine points for second, etc., and the total points are divided by the number of sports in which a school participates.
WSU won or shared titles in men’s basketball, men’s golf, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field and women’s tennis.
It is the sixth time — all since 2005-06 — for the Shockers to win six or more titles.
