Central Florida scored four runs on just one hit in back-to-back innings to defeat visiting Wichita State 9-5 Friday night.
In the third, UCF (28-14, 8-8) benefited by three walks and all scored on Tyler Osik’s double. Osik scored on a Gunnar Troutwine passed ball.
In the fourth, UCF benefited by three walks and a hit-by-pitch to again score four runs on just one hit, a bases-loaded triple by Ray Alejo.
In all, seven of UCF’s nine runs came as a result of a walk and/or hit-by-pitch.
