WACO, Texas – Wichita State women's tennis sophomore Xin Tong Wang's run at the NCAA Singles Championships ended before it could really begin, as she suffered an injury early on in her first match on Tuesday at Hurd Tennis Center.
Wang suffered the injury midway through the first set, up 4-2 on California's Katja Wiersholm. Wang attempted to play through the injury, but ultimately could not, and was forced to retire tied 4-4.
This was the last attached event a Shocker will compete in this fall.
The 2025 spring season for the Shockers begins in January.
