LOS ANGELES – Wichita State University junior infielder Paxton Wallace has signed a non-drafted free agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels, it was announced Monday, July 19.
Wallace is the 196th Shocker to play professional baseball and the second under second season head coach Eric Wedge, as teammate Aaron Haase was drafted in the 17th round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers July 13.
A native of Greenbrier, Ark., Wallace excelled at the plate in 2021, posting a .322 batting average with 67 hits, 45 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, a team-best 49 RBI, 21 walks and five stolen bases in 54 games played.
