LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the tenth consecutive year, the Wichita State volleyball team has earned the United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (USMC/AVCA) Team Academic Award.
The Shockers completed a strong academic year in 2021-22, placing 16 student-athletes on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, with a 3.39 team GPA in the fall and a 3.68 mark in the spring.
"Academic achievement does not happen by accident," said AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer. "I'm so proud of the hundreds of coaching staffs that make excellence in the classroom a priority."
The USMC/AVCA award initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honoring volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.
