TULSA, Okla. – The Wichita State University volleyball team fell to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 3-2, in the annual Havoc in the Heartland match Saturday evening, Sept. 29, inside the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Shockers lost by match scores of 41-39, 20-25, 25-18, 15-25 and 17-19.
With the setback, WSU drops to 7-7 overall and 2-1 in The American, while Tulsa improves to 11-4 on the season and 3-0 in conference play. The loss also snaps Wichita State's 22-game American Athletic Conference winning streak dating back to last season.
Redshirt freshman Megan Taflinger led Wichita State with a career-high 24 kills and 17 digs for her second-career double-double, while senior Kali Eaken added a career-best 68 assists, and Giorgia Civita compiled a career-high 42 digs.
