Tulane Uses Second Half Surge to Take Down Shockers

NEW ORLEANS – Behind a 28-13 third quarter, Tulane defeated Wichita State, 67-52, Saturday afternoon in Devlin Fieldhouse.

Wichita State (10-7, 1-3) held a one-point halftime lead, but the second half belonged to the Green Wave.

DJ McCarty put up a team-high 14 points and Jane Asinde added 10 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort. Wichita State was without point guard Seraphine Bastin and Asia Strong was held scoreless for the first time this season.

Wichita State converted on only 35 percent of its attempts, including 3-of-11 from beyond the arc and turned the ball over 22 times.
