ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico scored six runs in the first two innings on the way to a 17-7 win over Wichita State in game one of a three-game series.
Chase Rader went 3-for-3, while Tanner Kirk went 3-for-6, Alec Bohm went 3-for-5 and Luke Ritter went 1-for-2 with three RBI.
Starter Sam Tewes went three innings and gave up five earned runs on five hits with five walks and four strikeouts.
The Shockers got on the board in the top of the second.
