OMAHA, Neb. – The Wichita State men's tennis team fought hard to come away with a first-place finish in doubles, and have everyone place in the top-four in their singles flights this past weekend at the Creighton Invitational, in Omaha, Neb.
Murkel Dellien and Rafael Serra defeated duos from Creighton University, 7-5, Doane University, 6-0, and the University of Nebraska Omaha, 6-0, to finish undefeated and win doubles flight B, while Elio Lago and Bruno Serra secured a win over Creighton, 6-3, in doubles flight A.
In singles, Dellien battled through singles flight A, defeating players from Omaha, 6-0, 6-2, and the University of North Dakota, 6-4, 6-2, before falling to Abdoul Outtara of Omaha, 5-7, 6-3, 10-8, to claim second place.
