WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State needed just over 90 minutes to finish off a 4-0 win over Southern Illinois, Sunday afternoon at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex, to claim its eighth-consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship.
WSU (27-3) tied a school record with its 27th dual victory, equaling the 2005-06 team's final mark. The Shockers' 17th-consecutive win also set a new program record.
The team earned the MVC's automatic bid to the NCAA Team Championships and will learn its destination on Tuesday.
