WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State's cross country teams travel to Joplin, Mo., to run in Saturday's Southern Stampede at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course, hosted by Missouri Southern State University.
The women are set to race the 5K at 8:30 a.m., and the men to run the 8K at 9:45 a.m.
Saturday will be the first time for the Shockers to race against American conference foe Tulsa. Tulsa men entered the week No. 4 in the NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings, and the women No. 10.
"They are a highly respected program and ranked fairly high in the Midwest Regional, for us they are the team to watch," Head Cross Country Coach Kirk Hunter said.
