Shockers Sweep Bears on Day One

WICHITA, Kan. - With 19 hits in two games, the Wichita State softball team swept Northern Colorado on day one of the series, run-ruling the Bears in both games, 10-1 and 8-0.

In game one, Katie Malone got the start for the Shockers, throwing her fifth complete game of the season and only allowing five hits in her five innings of work. Malone also struck out four batters on the day.

Offensively, Wichita State had eight players collect at least one hit and had Mackenzie Wright and Liz Broyles collect two.
