After sweeping two home games last week, Wichita State players swept the American Athletic Conference's weekly awards on Monday afternoon.
Markis McDuffie was named Player of the Week and Jamarius Burton became the first Shocker to take home Freshman of the Week.
McDuffie – a 6-foot-8 senior from Paterson, N.J. – scored 27 points in Saturday's 79-68 win over Tulsa and averaged 21.0 points over the two games. It was his second player of the week nod this year (the other came after a 32-point outburst in the season's opening week).
In addition to his ninth 20-point performance of the year, McDuffie's energy was instrumental in helping WSU fight back from an eight-point deficit midway through the second half against Tulsa.
