ARLINGTON, Texas – The Wichita State University baseball team split two games in the UT Arlington Classic Saturday, Feb. 23, at Clay Gould Ballpark, dropping game one to the host UT Arlington Mavericks, 5-2, before rolling to an 18-2 victory in the nightcap against Stephen F. Austin.
The Shockers (2-5) are slated to play UT Arlington Sunday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. to wrap up play in the classic.
Wichita State tallied a season-best 17 hits and plated at least one run in all but two innings in the 18-2 throttling of Stephen F. Austin (2-5) in game two.
