BOWLING GREEN, Fla. – The Wichita State men's golf team opened the 2023-24 season with a 6th place finish at the Allstate Streamsong Invitational this week. A pair of Shockers finished in the tournament's top-20.
The Shockers put together a team score of 861 with rounds of 281, 288, and 293, 14-under par and 6th place in the team standings. Kennesaw State took home the team title, finishing 31-under par. Blake Lorenz and Lucas Scheufler were the top Shockers, finishing five-under par (213) and tied for 11th overall. The Shockers started the tournament blazing hot, holding the top spot for a majority of the first 18-holes, but some trouble late on the back 9 set the team back, leading to the Shockers ending day one in fourth place with a score of 281 and 11 strokes under as a team.
