MONTGOMERY, Texas – The Wichita State men's golf team shot 1-under-par in Tuesday's final round to secure a fifth-place finish at the Huntsville Chevrolet Bearkat Invitational.
Four of the five Shockers saved their best rounds for last on the par-72 Walden at Lake Conroe, led by Zac Owens (-2) and Dawson Lewis (-1).
36-hole leader Marcus Wochner (70-70-79—219, +3) slumped from first-place into a tie for 15th, despite a mostly-solid Tuesday performance. He was par-or-better on 15 of his 18 holes but lost the lead with a quadruple-bogey on the fifth tee (a 379-yard par-4) and added double-bogeys on the eighth and 11th holes.
