LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Wichita State got six shutout innings from and scored 12 runs against the Little Rock bullpen, routing the Trojans 14-0 on Saturday afternoon at Gary Hogan Field.
The Shockers (2-0) poured on 18 hits, doing most of their damage late. The Shockers scored multiple runs in each of the last four innings, highlighted by a six-run top of the seventh that blew the game open.
Zang (1-0) was spectacular in his Shocker debut, limiting the Trojans to just three singles over six spotless innings. The right-hander struck out eight and issued two walks, ending his outing by retiring the final nine batters he faced.
