Shockers Open with 52-Point Win over UMKC

WICHITA, Kan. – Darral Willis finished with a double-double to lead a group of six double-figure scorers, and No. 7/8 Wichita State posted its most lopsided margin of victory in 11 seasons under , 109-57 over UMKC Friday night at Charles Koch Arena.

The Shockers' 52-point win was two more than the previous Marshall Era best, a 94-44 decision against Chicago State on Dec. 14, 2011.

WSU's 52-point victory was its largest ever margin in a season opener, topping a 69-18 win over Sterling College on Jan. 13, 1920, and 109 points was the most by a Shocker team to kick off a season since the 1964-65 Final Four team put up 114 on Long Beach State.
