WICHITA, Kan. -- The Wichita State women's tennis team jumped two spots in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I rankings, released Wednesday, and are now 37th nationally.
WSU (3-0, 1-0 MVC) defeated No. 35 Oklahoma on Sunday in Norman. The Shockers were ranked as high as No. 22 last March and ended the year at No. 36. With the majority of last year's cast back in place, WSU was tabbed 39th in the ITA's first set of rankings, released Jan. 5.
The next set of individual rankings is due out on Feb. 10.
WSU is one of 60 top teams invited to compete in the annual ITA Kickoff Weekend, which consists of 15, four-team brackets at host sites throughout the country.
