PHOENIX – Wichita State finished a perfect 5-0 at the GCU Invitational with a 9-1 win in five innings over the Colgate Raiders on Sunday morning at GCU Softball Stadium.
With the win, the Shockers are off to their first 5-0 start since 1994.
It didn't take long for the Shockers to strike as hit a double in the right-center field gap to drive in all the way from first. Epperson later came in to score on a dropped pop-up by the Colgate left fielder, allowing to get on base. Soon after, hit her first home run of the season, a two-run shot to center field to make the Shocker lead 4-0 in the first inning.
