WICHITA – A sleepy start doomed Wichita State Saturday morning in an eventual four-set loss to Wyoming at Charles Koch Arena. Set scores were 25-14, 25-14, 20-25 and 25-16 in favor of the visiting Cowgirls.
Just over 12 hours removed from a five-set win over South Dakota, WSU (6-2) struggled to find a spark. The Shockers hit .091 and .000 in each of the first two sets against Wyoming.
WSU regrouped to win the third set, out-hitting the Cowgirls .368 to .175 but couldn't sustain the momentum. The teams were knotted at 12 in the fourth set before Wyoming closed the match on a 13-4 tear.
