DENTON, Texas -- North Texas snapped their seven-match losing streak with a five-set win over Wichita State on Friday night, 25-22, 23-25, 24-26, 25-13, 9-15 at the UNT Volleyball Center.
The Shockers (15-12, 10-5) out-hit the Mean Green .370-.260, but allowed 10 North Texas aces and could not slow down Aryn Johnson, who finished with a match-high 19 kills.
Wichita State claimed the first of three very closely contested frames to open the night, committing just one attack error while racking up 16 kills to hit .517. had five kills on seven attempts to lead the way, but it was who delivered the set-winner with Wichita State clinging to a 24-22 lead.
