JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Wichita State took a 3-2 lead into the eighth inning and a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the tenth but could not hold on as #14 Virginia rallied for a 5-4 win on Friday night at 121 Financial Ballpark.
The Shockers (2-2) were three outs away from a win after launched a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the tenth against Virginia closer Aiden Teel (1-0). But the Cavaliers (5-0) rallied in the bottom of the inning, using a walk, single and hit by pitch to load the bases for Henry Ford, who doubled off the wall in right-center field to give Virginia the come-from-behind win.
