GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Wichita State battled back to force a fifth set but committed several costly errors in the deciding frame as East Carolina claimed a 25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 25-18, 10-15 victory on Sunday afternoon at Minges Coliseum.
Wichita State (10-10, 5-3) got a career-high 21 kills from and a season-best 13 from , but misfired from the service line 13 times, including three in the fifth set. East Carolina (12-6, 5-3) separated from a 9-9 tie down the stretch as the Shockers committed three consecutive attack errors. A service ace from Kenzie Beckham brought the Pirates to match point, and one sideout later ECU's Aulie Huff produced the match-winning kill.
