Shockers Excel at Crowe Multi's

HOUSTON, Texas -- Wichita State's women's track and field Heptathlon contingent held down four of the top five spots after the first day of the Rice University Shirley Crowe Multi-Events competition at Ley Track.

The Shockers' Gavyn Yetter led the field after four events with 3,235 points, while Marteshia Caines was in second with 3,077 points. UTA's Alexus Henry was in third (3,043) while WSU's Sierra Hays (2,978) and Claudia Rojo (2,940) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

The women completed the 100 hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200 meters today, and finish tomorrow with the long jump, javelin and 800 meters.
