WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State hung three consecutive crooked numbers on the board in the middle innings and got shutout relief from freshmen and to ease past Gonzaga 10-5 on Saturday afternoon at Eck Stadium.
The win clinches the series victory for Wichita State (12-6), which has now won all four of their weekend series in 2024.
The Shockers overcame 12 walks and 3 hit by pitches from the pitching staff with the help of a season high four double plays and an offensive barrage in innings 3-through-5. Trailing 1-0 entering the bottom of the third, Wichita State struck for their first multi-run inning courtesy of RBI singles from and for a 2-1 lead.
