WICHITA, Kan. – Early scoring was the key for the Shockers in their 10-6 victory over Cowley College on Friday.
Freshman Bailey Klitzke threw all seven innings for the Shockers allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out seven.
Ashley Johnson led the team with three hits in four at-bats, while also scoring two runs. Macklin Hitz had one hit and collected three RBI.
Wichita State got things going early, scoring one run in the bottom of the first on a double down the left-field line to make the score 1-0.
