ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Wichita State women's bowling team defeated Wright State 4-3 in a thrilling best-of-seven Baker match to secure the program's first tournament win as an NCAA program at the Columbia 300 Saints Invite at Shrewsbury Lanes.
The win is Wichita State's 248th tournament championship in program history. The Shockers also won the Mid-States Championship earlier this season, though the competition was classified as an exhibition.
The Shockers (43-20) went the distance in all three of their bracket matches, battling back through the loser's bracket after an opening-round defeat to Wright State.
