BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Wichita State went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and UAB used two big innings to knock off the Shockers 5-3 on Friday night at Young Memorial Field.
The Shockers (13-8) struck first on an RBI double from in the top of the third, but UAB (11-10) answered right back with a three-run frame in the bottom of the inning. Logan Braunschweig had the big hit in the inning, slicing a two-run double that gave the Blazers a 2-1 lead. Brayton Brown capped off the scoring with an RBI ground out that made it 3-1.
