DALLAS -- Two days after a frustrating sweep at the hands of conference-leading SMU, Wichita State responded with a thrilling 25-13, 25-22, 24-26, 25-23 win on Sunday afternoon at Moody Coliseum.
The Shockers (9-5, 3-1) handed SMU (10-6, 4-1) their first conference loss and first home loss of the season.
Junior outside hitter took over the match down the stretch, delivering a monumental final set. The Brazilian had seven kills in the frame without committing an error on 15 attempts, hitting .467 on her way to a career-best 15 kills. She helped the Shockers erase a 20-14 deficit with a 7-0 run, then scored four of WSU's final five points to close it out.
