NORMAN, Okla. – The Wichita State women's team fell on the road to the #13 ranked Oklahoma Sooners 1-6 to start the 2024 campaign on Friday afternoon.
Oklahoma put together an impressive start in doubles, taking victories on courts one and two 6-0 and 6-3 to clinch the doubles point.
The Sooners clinched the match after victories on courts three, four, and six to take the decisive 4-0 advantage. OU pushed the margin to 5-0 with a defeat of Xin Tong Wang at court one.
OU would gain a 6-0 advantage with a narrow victory over Natsumi Kurahashi on court two, winning a ten-point tiebreak.
