WICHITA, Kan. -- #24 UCF hit .395 as a team and got 15 kills from All-American McKenna Melville to defeat Wichita State 25-16, 25-14, 25-16 on Sunday afternoon at Charles Koch Arena.
The Shockers (7-7) scored the first point of the match on a kill from Brylee Kelly, but after scoring the next two points UCF (12-0) did not trail the rest of the way. Wichita State pulled within 14-11 later in the first set after a UCF attack error, but the Knights scored eight of the next 11 to restore their cushion. A Kari Zumach kill put the finishing touches on an opening set win.
